Our story time for the first three weeks of AWANA focuses on the verses for the word SPARKS.
S stands for Savior
1 John 4:14
And we have seen and testify that the Father has sent the Son as Savior of the world.
P stands for Power
Romans 1:16
For I am not ashamed of the gospel of Christ, for it is the power of God to salvation for everyone who believes.
We used markers on a coffee filter to draw the earth. Then I sprayed the filter to make the colors run together. Although the instructions I found online suggested using a blow dryer to dry the filters, I brought my iron and a towel to quickly dry the filters. The students glued their earth to the verse page and added a cross from black construction paper. You can download the printable here.
