The importance of listening is the theme for the crafts and activities for Bible story lesson, Samuel Listens to God, from 1 Samuel 3. This lesson could also be titled, God Calls Samuel.
Samuel Listens to God Bible Story Lesson

The Samuel Listens Bible story lesson pack was designed for preschoolers, kindergartners, and first graders. To help both teacher and students tell and retell the Bible story, the packet includes:

Preschool Friendly Activity Pages

Following the listening theme, the I Spy game and Making Patterns worksheet include musical instruments. The Alphabet Maze includes images of children listening.

The Counting Clip Cards feature megaphones and provide practice recognizing numbers 1-10. Students use clothes pins to select the number that corresponds with the number of megaphones on each card.

The Number Strip Puzzle offers students the chance to place the puzzle strips in sequence 1-10 while rebuilding the picture of Samuel listening to God’s voice.

The Story Maze and the Color Matching Worksheet provide additional opportunities to review the story and practice fine motor and cutting skills. To complete the color matching worksheet, students cut out the lamps and then glue the lamp next to the sleeping mat it matches.

Each full-color printable can be printed on regular copy paper for a single use. You can choose to print on cardstock and then laminate or place the pages in dry erase pockets or sheet protectors.

How to Use These Activities in Your Classroom or Home

The Story Poster, Coloring Page, and Copywriting Pages could all be used as part of your Sunday School story time and activity time. You can print and laminate the Storytelling Craft Stick Puppets to use when telling the story. Then let the children retell the story.
